Calle 50, Panama City

Here’s a short video to help you get to know one of Panama City’s main thruways, the one-way street, Calle 50. Calle 50 takes you through Bella Vista, the Marbella banking district, Obarrio, and all the way down to San Francisco, where you’ll find popular streets like Via Porras and Ave. Cincuentenario. You’ll also find Hooters and the end of Calle Uruguay located here. For those of you who don’t know, Calle Uruguay is one of the main restaurant, bar, and club/disco areas in Panama City. Hope this video helps. Keep your eyes open for more videos on The Real Streets of Panama.

  6. Sakura says:

OMG how did you NOT find traffic seriuosly it was so smooth and that hideous screw building looks so confusing and the gazillion political posters. Next time use music from game of thrones in the rush hours…like rains of castamere or the intro to GoT lol awesome vid man awesome

    • Chris says:

Haha, that would be awesome. I should put the GOT theme on there. Or maybe even Daft Punk’s Tron theme as I weave in and out of traffic and dodge taxis and Coke trucks. You don’t like the screw building? I love that thing.

Thanks for watching and for commenting, Sakura.

Great job Chris! Look forward to more of these as I try to understand the city!!

    • Chris says:

Thanks, Amy! Let’s figure this city out together. I know a lot of the streets, but not all that’s for sure. I should know a lot more by the end of this series!

  9. Shelly says:

Seems like traffic was flowing along nicely except when the taxi cut you off.

    • Chris says:

Haha, I know, right? And the Coke truck. Unbelievable. I was actually surprised by how smooth the traffic was. It was at 9am on Monday morning. Then again, I was headed out of the city while everyone else would be headed into it either on Via España or the Corredor Sur.
