Via España, Panama City

Here’s a short video to help you get to know one of Panama City’s main thruways, a street that suddenly switches to a 4-lane, one-way street about halfway through. Not understanding this street can cause quite a bit of confusion. Understanding it will help you get from one end of the city to the other with ease. Via España starts near the Rio Abajo area, right at Via Cincuentenario and runs all the way to just a little past Iglesia del Carmen. Traveling from one end to the other will take you through neighborhoods like Rio Abajo, Hato Pintado, El Carmen, Obarrio, and El Cangrejo. Check out this video to see exactly what it’s like to travel from one end of Via España to the other at 1:30pm on a Monday afternoon.

It looks horrible. It reminds me of a ghetto in Providence RI, I used to avoid just to not feel depressed heading through it. I hope there is a more scenic route. 🙂
