Retirement can be downright boring. Plus, if you moved all of your belongings to Panama, like I did, you might find yourself with a ton of stuff you’re finding you no longer need in this new life you’re living. Charitable organizations all over Panama are struggling to keep afloat. So, whether you find yourself with extra cash, extra belongings, or even extra time on your hands, I’m sure these organizations would love to hear from you.
Volunteering can be such a rewarding experience. I’ve heard stories of expats doing remarkable things to bring something special to this country they’ve adopted as their own. One retired music teacher donated all of his old musical instruments to a local school, and even volunteers as a music teacher. Other expats love giving all of their old clothes and other belongings to the local church. Some expats are even building bridges in the interior of the country, so families no longer have to wade through the dangerous rivers to get back and forth from their home to school or work.
Check out the organizations in the drop down menu that accompanied this page, and if you know of any others, let us know.
